After the winter set (W3) is finished, I will make a new set with summer greenery. I will post updates and screenshot in this thread.

I'm currently testing out new method's to make objects with. In a nutshell, it is about splitting up parts of a plant (tree, shrub, flower or whatever) and join them together in 3DS max. Before rendering, I'll add normal map effect to the texture. This is a 'work around' to simulate normal mapping effect into pre 2009 items.

The advantage is to minimize the image files as there will be several smaller images with less unused space to carry the texture. When the mesh is finished with it's texture, they will all be rendered into one file. This speed up the performance and lower the filesize. Finallly, it's possible to make the vegetation more 3D.

Still this is into early stage so it need to be optimized further. I'll post more on this....

I worked all day yesterday with this set and sometime last evening my PC crashed...I have backup of some of the files as I use different partitions but a lot of data where lost.

So the set will be delayed for a week or two. Sorry for this inconvenience.. :?

THX Andy :)

I'm already up and running again, but there's TONs of 3'rd party stuff and some days at download station.....

But all my important files are stored at different partitions, I just have to re-make some mesh files in 3DS max.

BTW, I'm deep into experimenting with some new stuff, I just hope I can get some of it from max to Trainz, not always as easy as a walk in the park...., if I gain some progress I'll post it here.
