Have just seen the other posts about Hit.

Have they never heard of fan sites or are they just out to screw anybody even where no money is being made?

And the entertainment industry wonders why they get little sympathy from the public when it comes to pirated material – not that I would ever condone piracy!

More corporate greed - perhaps someone here could sell their models to them and get hem released legally in that case if they are that worried about getting their precious pound of flesh.

Seriously - the models are that good I am sure most people would pay for them!

we do understand how you all feel but we have to take the models away. HIT entertainment will taking legal action if we continue to host the file of Thomas & Friends on the UKBL site, UKBL could be gone for good if we continued to host them

So please stop making out its Magandys fault when it not, we are following instructions from HIT Entertainment

Chris

If HIT were intrested in the models i think they would have made there own by now, and i dont think they see much in Train Sims, HIT only see the money in the DVD's, Hornby & any other model railway Gauge that thomas is made in,

Chris

Hi. I am the father of MattNichols, a member of this forum who is only 11year old and who also happens to have aspergers syndrome.

I have spent the morning trying to figure out why he has been in such a foul mood and finally dragged out of him the decision by UKBL to remove the TTTE series of models from site.

I understand there has been amount of aggravation to the point where the forum was closed.
I fully support this - it is not acceptable for Magandy and the other immensely talented people, who run this site and produce such fine models for the rest of the community to use gratis, to be subjected to any kind of harrasment or complaints for something that is done on a voluntary basis.

I gather though, that some of the comments where from younger members of the community, which of course TTTE is bound to attract. It therefore it must be accepted that there will be an element of immaturity or lack of understanding - and by the sound of it, some blunt comments/insults!

Magandy and others though should not have to babysit any individuals regardless of age, disability or immaturity and the decision to close the forum was the right thing to do.

However, I would ask all concerned, and particularly Magandy, that once the initial anger has subsided that the decision to deny access to the models themselves to ALL is reviewed, or even offered to others to host even if on a non-supported / no forum basis.

To punish all for the sake of a few would be rather petulant. If individuals have upset memebrs of the team then ban / block them only.

To Magandy and all the other team members. please do not under-estimate the appreciation felt by others, and the high regard in which the majority of your community members hold you.

Regards Chris Nichols.

Chris please read below and you will see why they have been removed ..... Its beyond our control

i had doubts about hit before i joined

andy actually closed his account i think
hit didnt suspend it

Andy was asked by youtube to either remove the thomas releaed video or dlete the account, and just deleted the account as it was getting to much abuse anyway

Ouch.

Guess that's part of why they dissapeared...

Well then, I wonder why they kicked up a fuss? It's not as if you were charging money for them, or as if they were bad.

Still, better to be safe than sorry

yeah at the end of the day HIT own the all the rights to Thomas & friends, they started back in last year doing a sweep on youtube for the new season being uploaded, anything that got on was deleted by youtube more or less straight away, we didnt want to risk having a legal battle with the brand name that owns thomas, it was just bad timing when HIT actually emailed us about the models,

Chris

But I thought Hit Entertainment only had the rights to own the show. I mean why did Hit become involved with Trainz? Plus, I only upload videos on YouTube for entertainment purposes. When Hit sent Magandy a message, I felt betrayed when we had to stop hosting the Thomas models. Can they allow us to host the Thomas models after we ask for permission, or not?

i contacted auran about the models on the dls, (Alan at the help desk,) and this was his response to my question

Quote:
Hi Chris,

We can't have any 'thomas the tank' stuff on the DLS as the owners of the trade mark will sue our a**es. :)

They sent us a lovely letter a few years ago and we are most definately not interested in a legal battle with them.

Regards,

Alan

so far it seems that HIT will try to take control of everthing and it is a shame now if Britt Allcroft still controled thomas then none of this would've happened

Or better, that deal with the then TV producers that gave them full rights to everything that is remotly related to Thomas

Unfortunatly, unless Hit become a victim of the financial crisis, we will just have to live with it

Right I have had enough of this and people PM me..... THOMAS is gone we hosted him for 4 years thats long enough for us. If Hit said tomorrow we could use the models they still wouldnt be coming back.. I have had enough of making Thomas trainz was becoming a chore and not enjoyment any more. Thomas has taken me away from make the models that I want to make. I want to start enjoying trainz again... Now lets put this to bed and move on

I second Andys comments, Making thomas stuff for trainz was ment to be fun but unfortunatly some people on here tried and make it a job for us, we have real lives to live (Real Jobs half you probably wont know what they are yet), why you thinked i stop at edward, it got to the stage at one point where half way through thomas some of you were asking whos next. and i hadnt even finished Thomas

Thomas will Not be returning to the UKBL site as we keep saying, and you choose to ingore it, we a setting back to what we used to do, please respect this decsion,

Chris

Why don't you lock this topic? That way no one can keep moaning.

For god sake everybody, cant you read, TTTE Models are not coming back, HIT are greedy Ba***rds and you moan too much. Thomas is not real. Trainz is a SIMULATOR which means "to re-create real life" and therefore TTTE has no place. If you really liked them you would have saved them to your system like me so that you can recommit them to the game anytime. It is a shame but it had to be done. now stop moaning all of you and SHUT UP ABOUT IT!!! jeeez.

By the way Andy (&UKBL Team) you did the right thing, ignore these arogant gits.
i much prefer the real-life based stuff :D
