To be honest, you quite literally asked for them to be removed and must therefore bear the consequences.

Now can we have some sensible disscusion on this forum?

This is a disaster. I really liked the Thomas models but I don't blame you taking them off. Yet if people are resigning aren't you destroying UKBL? The future looks grim.

Everyone here seems to think UKBL is just Thomas models and that's it. The way I look at it UKBL is about creating a bygone era of the UK railway scene, and UKBL has strong support in creating that era. A great example of that is the amount of assets that are released under the UKBL name, UKBL won't be disappearing, it will be just sticking to its roots.

I totally agree with you rob.

(By the way, your 9F is probably one of the best 3rd party models.)

Back on topic, UKBL has a long list of content under it's banner. Removing Thomas will just be a small blip, and a slight decrease in site traffic.

I wish that people would just move on. I'm sure someone else will make TTTE for Trainz...

Hi All

Judging by the comments we are getting on the thomas models being removed, your not happy,

Its all come to ahead at once we have had a stroke of bad luck, UKBL got a ticked off by the people being disrespectful of the models and abusing the forum and on youtube, We also reiceved and email from 'HIT Entertainment Limited' about the thomas models this was due to the videos on youtube aswell, hence why Magandy22 user name has been deleted and along with all the videos, they could of put us through a legal battle as we do not have permission to release the models for Trainz as they are copyright to HIT.

it was just bad luck i think for us on the thomas model front

and i think this clearly states that the Thomas models for Trainz will not be returning to UKBL or any other website for that matter

as from this day, UKBL will be returning to it original routes of content creation the Big Four & BR, Thomas will not longer be supported

Ouch.

Guess that's part of why they dissapeared...

Well then, I wonder why they kicked up a fuss? It's not as if you were charging money for them, or as if they were bad.

Still, better to be safe than sorry.

Andy was asked by youtube to either remove the thomas releaed video or dlete the account, and just deleted the account as it was getting to much abuse anyway

yeah at the end of the day HIT own the all the rights to Thomas & friends, they started back in last year doing a sweep on youtube for the new season being uploaded, anything that got on was deleted by youtube more or less straight away, we didnt want to risk having a legal battle with the brand name that owns thomas, it was just bad timing when HIT actually emailed us about the models,

But if we put the models on a website with a description saying stuff like, "The rights of the models and the show belongs to Hit Entertainment", or "I don't own or endorse Thomas and Friends in any way", would that still count as copyright infringement? I thought the company only had the rights of the show.

But they HAD to do it, otherwise it would have been a lengthy court case.

Some people...

Its worth pointing out that Hit have been doing this sorting of thing in the Railway Preservation scene, where the preserved railways have to pay fees to hold Thomas events. Its all a part of business brand control.

Hi. I am the father of MattNichols, a member of this forum who is only 11year old and who also happens to have aspergers syndrome.

I have spent the morning trying to figure out why he has been in such a foul mood and finally dragged out of him the decision by UKBL to remove the TTTE series of models from site.

I understand there has been amount of aggravation to the point where the forum was closed.
I fully support this - it is not acceptable for Magandy and the other immensely talented people, who run this site and produce such fine models for the rest of the community to use gratis, to be subjected to any kind of harrasment or complaints for something that is done on a voluntary basis.

I gather though, that some of the comments where from younger members of the community, which of course TTTE is bound to attract. It therefore it must be accepted that there will be an element of immaturity or lack of understanding - and by the sound of it, some blunt comments/insults!

Magandy and others though should not have to babysit any individuals regardless of age, disability or immaturity and the decision to close the forum was the right thing to do.

However, I would ask all concerned, and particularly Magandy, that once the initial anger has subsided that the decision to deny access to the models themselves to ALL is reviewed, or even offered to others to host even if on a non-supported / no forum basis.

To punish all for the sake of a few would be rather petulant. If individuals have upset memebrs of the team then ban / block them only.

To Magandy and all the other team members. please do not under-estimate the appreciation felt by others, and the high regard in which the majority of your community members hold you.

Regards Chris Nichols.
